Wedding Ceremonies

In planning wedding ceremonies, there are many factors to take into consideration. Wedding ceremonies are the time and place in which couples will announce their love for each other and make the commitment to hold that love for the rest of their lives. Couples want their wedding ceremonies to be perfect and they can be with some careful planning.

The very first decision couples need to make is where their wedding ceremony will be held.

The site for the wedding ceremony will be dependent on the season of the year, religious affiliations, the number of guests expected and whether you will be having a formal or informal ceremony. It's important to start searching and securing the wedding ceremony site as soon as you set the date for the event.

A church is the most traditional location for a ceremony. Couples who belong to a church may want to have the wedding ceremony there and if that's the case the only thing left to do is book the date. However, wedding ceremonies don't have to be held in a church. There are many other places for wedding ceremonies such as a private home, garden, courthouse, hotel, country club, park, museum, winery or the beach. These are just a few ideas for the locations for wedding ceremonies. The options can truly be limitless.

Once the couple have decided where the wedding ceremony will be, make sure to find out any restrictions they may have. For wedding ceremonies held in a church there may be restrictions as to what type of music can be played or what kind of readings there can be. There may also be restrictions as to how flowers can be displayed or when you can start decorating.

When renting out space for a wedding ceremony, find out what is included with the rental. You'll need to know about parking, arrival and departure times, what equipment you will be able to use, and clean-up responsibilities. Also, be sure to inquire about any other policies and procedures that they may have of which you need to be aware.

Also, be sure to ask about any fees other than the basic may be included. Churches may charge additional fees for kneeling cushions, a changing room for the bridal party, the organist, and an aisle runner. If you are getting married elsewhere such as a hotel, they may have extra fees for decorating if you are not going to be doing this yourself.

They may also charge for the use of a sound system, the cost of set-up (again if you're not doing this yourself) and for any extra facilities that may need to be used other than the room for the wedding ceremony. Ask about all of these and make sure they are included in the contract before you sign it.

And lastly, once everything is done and you've chosen the place, don't forget to bring the marriage license package on the day of the ceremony. You absolutely need this to get married otherwise the wedding ceremony is incomplete and not considered legal.
